ABOUT US
The Deaf Set is an agency and consultancy supporting productions to work more inclusively with Deaf talent, both in front of and behind the camera.
Founded by Tobi, a CODA and BSL interpreter with extensive experience across TV, film and theatre, the company was born out of a clear gap in the industry. Access was often arranged too late, production teams lacked confidence in working with Deaf actors, and Deaf talent were left to advocate for themselves when they should’ve been free to focus on the work.
The Deaf Set steps in early to take that pressure off. As a third-party agency and consultancy, we support both sides to ensure the right structures are in place from the start, so access is never an afterthought, and Deaf and hearing professionals can work together more smoothly, confidently and creatively.
We work closely with Deaf creatives and production teams to make the process smoother, more inclusive and more professional from the very beginning.

CONSULTANCY
We work with productions from the very beginning, offering practical, creative, and cultural guidance at every stage.
Whether you're writing a script, casting a role, planning a shoot or heading into the edit, we provide consultants who understand both the Deaf community and the production process.
We’ve supported productions like Bridgerton, Doctor Who, Reunion, Sex Education, and Code of Silence, as well as national events including The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, The King’s Coronation, and The Paralympics.
From script to screen, we’re with you every step of the way.
AGENCY
We represent a small, handpicked group of Deaf actors working across stage and screen.
Their credits include Silent Witness, Code of Silence, Reunion, Grantchester, EastEnders, Olivier-nominated theatre and productions at Shakespeare’s Globe. This is a team with real range, from prime-time TV to festival-winning drama. One of our actors recently won Best Actor at Series Mania for a leading role in a BBC series.
We support both the actor and the production team so that everyone can focus on the work.
